X-Rated – Bizarre Body Facts
Have you ever wondered how you can block a tickle? Why pirates wore eye-patches? Or what your earwax says about you? Did you know that snakes can bite you even when they’re dead? That one of the tiniest creatures on earth has the loudest voice? Or that there’s an animal that makes square poos? Could it be possible that some insects eat their own babies? That some mammals have sex 50 times a day? Or that one crazy creature has a 4-headed penis? And who do you think is fitter – a shrimp or a human?
Join TV scientist Dr. Emily Grossman for this fun and interactive show, as she takes you on a fascinating tour of some of the most bizarre facts about human and animal bodies.
Emily Grossman is an expert in molecular biology and genetics from Queens' College Cambridge and a PhD in cancer research. She also trained and worked as an actress, and now combines her skills as a science broadcaster and educator. Emily teaches maths and science, explains science for a wide range of TV and radio programmes, and gives talks in schools, universities and at live events. She is also a passionate advocate for gender equality and diversity in science and recently gave a Tedx talk on Why Science Needs People Who Cry.
Come see Dr. Emily Grossman from the UK for a captivating show at Stakladen!
